Unit 4: assignment 2

1b. "Is anyone of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord." ( Luke 5:14)

2. " When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them. When they arrived, they prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit, because the Holy Spirit had not yet come upon any of them; they had simply been baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus. Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit." (Acts 8: 14-17)

3a. "For this is the reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh." ( Ephesians 5: 31)
3b. It means that the man and women will be become one with each other when they are husband and wife. They decisions will be made together and they will live and act in unison with each other.

4. A deacon is a member of the clerical order next below that of a priest.
A priest is a member of the clergy of the order next below that of bishop, authorized to carry out the Christian ministry.
A bishop is a high-ranking Christian cleric, in modern churches usually in charge of a diocese and in some churches regarded as having received the highest ordination in unbroken succession from the apostles.

5. "Again Jesus said," Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you." And with that he breathed on them and said, " Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven." ( John 20: 21-23)
